Bishop Paul speaks at annual Chicago area Pan Orthodox Sanctity of Life serviceBURR RIDGE, IL [Orthodox Christians for Life-Chicago/Priest Andrew Bartek] — The ninth annual Pan-Orthodox Sanctity of Life prayer service was held at Saints Peter and Paul Church, Burr Ridge, IL on Sunday evening, January 22, 2017.

His Grace, Bishop Paul of Chicago presided at the service and delivered an inspiring presentation in which he spoke of the need to speak with care about being pro-life.  One cannot stop at being an advocate for the rights of the unborn.  Advocacy for life encompasses all persons and their lives until the time God deems it to end.  Life and death are not of our choosing, but of God’s choosing.

Among those in attendance was Laura Nelson of the Womens Care Center, LaGrange, IL.

Bishop Paul speaks at annual Chicago area Pan Orthodox Sanctity of Life serviceConcelebrating with Bishop Paul were Priest Herman Kincaid, host Rector; Priest Andrew Bartek, Rector of Saint Panteleimon Church, Summit, IL and Spiritual Director for Orthodox Christians for Life-Chicago; Protodeacon Robert Northrup, Saint Panteleimon Church; and Deacons David Kenny and Mark Kauskojus, both of Saints Peter and Paul Church.  Several other OCA Chicago Deanery priests were present, as was Priest Malik Rihani, Saint Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, Palos Heights, IL.  Liturgical responses were beautifully sung by Archpriest Paul Jannakos, Rector of Saint Luke Church, Palos Hills, IL; Matushka Michelle Jannakos; and Deacon Alexander Koranda.
