Kansas City Deanery clergy, families gather for two days of worship, fellowship
OVERLAND PARK, KS [MW Diocese Communica-tions] — Kansas City Deanery clergy and their families gathered at Holy Trinity Church here July 12-13, 2017 for two days of worship and fellowship.
According to Archpriest Timothy Sawchak, Kansas City Dean, the gathering opened on July 12 with the celebration of the Akathistos Hymn to the Sweetest Lord Jesus, after which attendees enjoyed an evening of fellowship. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated the next morning, followed by a picnic.
“Parishes in the deanery are typically at least three hours from each other, making it difficult for gatherings such as this,” Father Timothy said. “This was a great opportunity for the clergy families of the deanery to get to know each other better and for the clergy children to have time to interact with one another.”
