Chicago area Sanctity of Life Prayer Service Presentation to be held January 21NILES, IL [MW Diocese Communications] — The Rev. Dr. George Dokos, Proistamenos of Saint Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church, Minneapolis, MN, will be the speaker at the 10th Annual Pan-Orthodox Sanctity of Life Prayer Service at Holy Taxiarhai and Saint Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, 7373 North Caldwell Avenue, Niles, IL at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2018.

The event will be sponsored by the Orthodox Christian Clergy Association of Greater Chicago and is open to the public.

Father George received a Master of Divinity degree from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, Brookline, MA in 1999 and a Doctorate of Theology from the Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, Greece in 2010.  He has translated several works of Saint Nikodemos of the Holy mountain into English, in addition to a text on the Jesus Prayer, The Watchful Mind, written by an unknown hesychast of Mount Athos.

The annual pan-Orthodox service and presentation is held in different parishes each year.
