St Tikhons Mission Choir visits three Ohio parishesCANTON, OH [STOTS Communications] — The Mission Choir of Saint Tikhon’s Seminary, South Canaan, PA visited three Ohio parishes over the weekend of March 24-25, 2018.  They sang the responses for a full Vigil for the Feast of the Annunciation at Holy Assumption Church, Canton, OH, and were led by recent graduate and Saint Tikhon’s alumnus, Priest John Kennerk (STOTS 2017), who gave a wonderful and pastoral explanation of the Vigil beforehand to his parishioners.  Following the service Priest Mikel (classmate of Father John) and Matushka Rachel Hill hosted the Mission Choir, as well as the Kennerks and several parish families, for a lovely home-cooked meal at their house.

On Sunday Morning the Mission Choir sang the responses for the Divine Liturgy for the Feast of the Annunciation at Saint Nicholas Church, Mogadore, OH, led by Saint Tikhon’s Alumnus Archpriest Nicholas Wyslutsky (STOTS, 1989, currently serving as Alumni Treasurer).  Each seminarian, as well as Monastery Director of Music Benedict Sheehan, gave a brief talk at a fish fry following Liturgy.  Saint Nicholas Church is celebrating its centennial this year!

Finally, the Choir sang a concert with diverse repertoire at Saint George’s Serbian Orthodox Church, North Canton, OH, joined by Alumni Father Mikel Hill and Deacon Jonathan Lincoln (STOTS 2017), as well as Joachim Wyslutsky.  The concert was well attended and there was a light reception afterwards.  The concert itself and the music selection were organized by Father Mikel in conjunction with Benedict Sheehan.
