Chicago’s Holy Trinity Cathedral welcomes Bishop Neophytos of Nyeri and Mount Kenya

Chicagos Holy Trinity Cathedral welcomes Bishop Neophytos of Nyeri and Mount KenyaCHICAGO, IL [MW Diocese Communications] — His Grace, Bishop Neophytos of Nyeri and Mount Kenya visited the Midwest Diocese’s Holy Trinity Cathedral, Chicago, on the weekend of October 13-14, 2018 where he concelebrated the Sunday Divine Liturgy with His Grace, Bishop Paul and Priest Alexander Koranda.

Bishop Neophytos offered an inspiring homily in which he urged the faithful to live a life of patience.  Following the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Neophytos thanked Bishop Paul, the cathedral’s parishioners and the diocesan faithful for providing motorbikes to the clergy in his diocese.

Chicagos Holy Trinity Cathedral welcomes Bishop Neophytos of Nyeri and Mount KenyaBishop Paul presented Bishop Neophytos with a panagia in remembrance of his first visit to Chicago.  Father Alexander presented a hand-drawn rendition of Holy Trinity Cathedral with the image of Saint John of Chicago, the cathedral’s builder.  After greeting the faithful, the hierarchs gathered for a festive lunch in which they exchanged stories of diocesan life.

Bishop Neophytos also was the guest of Bishop Paul at the Midwest Diocesan Assembly held in Lansing, IL earlier in the week.
