BURR RIDGE, IL [DOM] – The Orthodox Church in America’s four-day Canon Law Conference concluded this afternoon. The conference was hosted by His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest and was held from October 21 through October 24 at St. Peter and St. Paul Church, Burr Ridge, IL.
The Canon Law Conference was requested by the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church in America to help review and strengthen diocesan ecclesiastical court procedures. Archbishop Daniel, along with Archpriest Alexander Rentel, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America, led the daily sessions which covered a range of topics, some of which included Canon Law in the Life of the Church, History, Development, and Nature of Church Courts, Formal Convening of a Court and Necessary Documentation.
On Wednesday, October 23, Archbishop Daniel presided over the Divine Liturgy and was joined by Priest Daniel Greeson, Rector, and Archpriest Timothy Hojniki.
