SYOSSET, NY [OCA] – On Sunday, July 12, 2020 the Office of Pastoral Life is holding a conference for the wives of parish priests, and widows. The two-hour conference will begin at 7:00PM EDT, and will be held on Zoom.
Recently, a similar online conference was held for clergy. Nearly 100 participants gathered on June 3 for a time of sharing, fellowship, and learning. With the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, the Office of Pastoral Life offers this same opportunity to each matushka. The invitation is the same – to gather and grow, and to enjoy the fruits of sisterhood.
The session will begin with prayer and brief remarks from Metropolitan Tikhon. Participants will then be placed in small group break-out rooms with other clergy wives and a facilitator. The break-out rooms will provide an opportunity to share experiences during the pandemic and the challenges ahead during the reopening.
“The health of clergy families is an indispensable part of a thriving parish,” said His Grace Bishop Alexis, Chair of the Office of Pastoral Life. “Facing the challenges of ministry with hope and flexibility requires that each clergy family have access to the experiences, wisdom, and insights of other clergy families.”
The conference is free of charge and open to the wives and widows of OCA priests. To register for the event, click here. Please RSVP by Monday, July 6th.
The Office of Pastoral Life seeks to equip the clergy of the Orthodox Church in America by providing them with the necessary resources and tools to maintain and enhance their ministries. In encouraging personal growth and fostering supportive relationships between those engaged in ministry, the office works to ensure that the leaders of our parish communities are continuously growing and maturing personally so that they may continue to lead the faithful with wisdom and zeal.
The OCA’s Office of Pastoral Life is made possible in large part due to the generous support of the Stewards of the Orthodox Church in America. See what you can make possible by becoming a Steward today!
