Saint Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary announced openings for two full-time positions at the seminary. First, a rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Dogmatic/Systematic Theology within the Seminary’s Master of Divinity (M.Div.) Program, with a starting date of 1 September 2022. The second, a a full-time Director of the Saint Patriarch Tikhon Library.
In announcing the openings, His Eminence Archbishop Michael, Seminary Rector commented on the search for the faculty position: “In filling this position, the Search Committee is looking for a scholar who will share with our students the mind of the Fathers, and instill within them what is necessary to do Theology within the Tradition that has been imparted to us by the Saints”. Seminary Dean, Father John Parker added: “We hope to welcome to our community a devoted and active Orthodox Christian professor who will continue to provide precision in understanding the Church’s Theology in word and in deed”.
Regarding the Library Director position, Archbishop Michael said: “In finding a Director for our Library we hope to identify a professional who will be able to share the depth of our collection with our faculty and students, and build on the legacy of those librarians that have come before”. Adding to the sentiments of Archbishop Michael, Fr. John Parker, Dean of the Seminary, commented: “It was once said, a seminary is two buildings—the Chapel and the Library.’ We look forward to our new Librarian, who, in tandem with our spiritual formation, will partner with us in moving our Library forward, enhancing the services we offer, and providing the best resources to our faculty, students, and the broader Orthodox community”.
