SOUTH CANAAN, PA [DOM] – At the conclusion of the first week of the new academic year, the seminarians of the Diocese of the Midwest and their families at St Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary resumed their established practice of gathering together monthly for prayer and fellowship. This practice was established by His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest to help establish the seminarians in prayer, but also to better connect them to the diocese while they are away.
The seminarians prayed in the seminary’s St. Nicholai Velimirovich Chapel for the Archbishop, clergy and faithful of the diocese, singing the Akathist to the Wonderworking Tikhvin Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos—the protectress of the diocese.
The seminarians and their families expressed their love and gratitude to those who are participating in the annual “Support Our Seminarians” month. This effort raises funds that go directly to the seminarians and their families. Individuals are encouraged to donate through their parishes, by mailing a check to the diocese, or online.
