SUMMIT, IL [DOM Communications] – The patronal feast of St. Panteleimon Church, Summit, IL was celebrated on Tuesday, July 27, before the relics of the Great Martyr, that are permanently enshrined there.
Priest Esteban Vázquez, Rector, presided over the divine services in honor of the parish patron. Fr. Esteban was joined by Priest Alexander Koranda, Dean of Holy Trinity Cathedral, and Deacon Nikolai Lochmatow of Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral (ROCOR). Responses were led by Protodeacon Robert Northrup and visiting clergy.
Fr. Alexander offered the sermon and focused on the early years of St. Panteleimon’s life and God’s providence. He encouraged the faithful gathered to trust in God’s merciful providence and to never give into despair thinking God has forgotten about them.
At the conclusion of the service, Fr. Esteban gave a heartfelt welcome to everyone gathered for the feast. The parish hosted fellowship for those gathered for the feast.
