BALTIMORE, MD [DOM] – The 61st Diocesan Assembly of the Diocese of the Midwest was held this the afternoon, Monday, July 18, 2022. His Grace Bishop Daniel, Locum Tenens of the Diocese of the Midwest chaired the annual diocesan gathering.
Delegates of the Midwest Diocese filled the meeting room in the Hilton Inner Harbor Inn, Baltimore, MD, the location of the All-American Council, in order to convene this holy work. Clergy and faithful gathered around their Locum Tenens and began the meeting with the ‘Moleben at the Opening of an Assembly”.
At the conclusion of the service, the meeting was opened, and Bishop Daniel gave his address to the diocese. His Grace talked about the difficult year that the diocese has been through in losing their Archpastor, His Eminence Archbishop Paul. “Memorial Eternal” was intoned, and the assembly prayed for their late hierarch. His Grace continued with his report reflecting the life of the diocese and his experience with Archbishop Paul, the clergy and the faithful since his appointment as Administrator. His Grace also offered the words on behalf of His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon expressing gratitude for the care that the diocese showed Archbishop Paul during his final days. He concluded by offering his prayers and love for the diocese.
Reports were given by the Chancellor, Treasurer, and auditors. Elections were held for the vacancies in the Diocesan Council, Metropolitan Council, and on the Auditors Committee.
The 61st Diocesan Assembly was closed with the prayerful installation of the newly elected members.
