WILLIAMS BAY, WI [DOM Communications] – In a recent letter dated March 15, 2021, His Eminence Archbishop Paul granted “mission status” to the Holy Theophany Chapel located in Williams Bay, Wisconsin.
“Therefore effective April 1, 2021, instead of Holy Theophany Chapel you are elevated to Holy Theophany Mission of the Diocese of the Midwest. The community’s status as a chapel associated with SS. Cyril and Methodius Church in Milwaukee, WI is discontinued.”
The community dates its gatherings back to 2007 when they started meeting in a local Williams Bay bookstore, and then moving to the local Elementary School, where services were held every other Sunday. On September 1, 2012 the community moved into its own permanent location where services were regularly held. Since that time, membership has continued to grow and show potential for even greater growth.
The Archbishop ended the letter with congratulatory marks to the clergy and faithful who have been laboring on this effort.
