NEW YORK, NY [DOM] – On the Sunday of Zacchaeus, January 29, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Diocese of the Midwest served at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral, New York, NY. His Eminence served at invitation of His Grace Bishop Matthew, Bishop of Sourozh, Interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA.
His Eminence was joined by Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, Chancellor of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Priest Mark Rashkov, Vice Chancellor of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Priest Alexander Koranda, Protodeacon Igor Panachev, Deacon John Peters, and Deacon Alexey Golubov.
At the conclusion of the divine services, His Eminence offered a word on the gospel of Zacchaeus and our individual efforts to seek out the Lord. The Archbishop also emphasized the importance of loving one’s neighbor during these trying times.
Fr. Igor welcomed Archbishop Daniel and presented His Eminence and Fr. Alexander with icons of St. Tikhon and St. Alexander, the builders of St. Nicholas Cathedral.
A warm reception was held in honor of the hierarchical visit in the parish hall.
