Archbishop of Chicago appeals for prayer for those suffering in the Holy Land

THE ARCHBISHOP OF CHICAGO AND THE MIDWEST
APPEALS FOR PRAYER FOR THOSE SUFFERING AS A RESULT OF THE VIOLENCE IN THE HOLY LAND

Beloved Clergy, Monastics, and Faithful of the Diocese of the Midwest,

Once again, the world is witnessing horrific acts of violence, in which one people is sorrowfully pitted against another. In light of our belief in the “one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all” (Ephesians 4:6), we cannot ignore the murderous attacks and counterattacks in the Holy Land—the very place in which the Incarnate God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, lived, suffered, died, and conquered death by His victorious Resurrection—which cries out to God as it turns red with the blood of innocent victims.

I ask you to join me in redoubling our prayers and fasting, imploring the Lord to grant peace to the world he has redeemed, and great mercy to our souls.

With love in the Lord,

+DANIEL
