SOUTH CANAAN, PA [DOM] – His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest traveled to St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, South Canaan, PA, to make a pastoral visit with the diocesan seminarians. The Archbishop arrived the evening of October 22 and returned to Chicago on Tuesday, October 24. Priest Alexander Koranda, Director of Seminarians for the Diocese of the Midwest, accompanied the Archbishop during his visit.
On Monday, October 23, a full day of meetings were arranged with the six Midwest seminarians that attend the seminary. During those meetings, His Eminence and Fr. Alexander met with the seminarians and their wives reviewing their course of study, prayer life, family life, and community life. The Archbishop offered the students words of encouragement and ensured them of the continued support from the diocese.
The Archbishop also met with the seminarians as a group and after attending Vespers, the Archbishop took the seminarians and their families out to dinner.
Throughout the day on Tuesday the Archbishop held meetings with His Eminence Archbishop Michael of New York and the Diocese of New York and New Jersey, Rector of the Seminary, as well as the Seminary Dean, Archpriest John Parker, before departing for Chicago.
The seminarians voiced their gratitude to the Archbishop and the diocese for their continued efforts in love and support.
