CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – On the great and saving day of the Resurrection of the Lord, Pascha, May 5, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest celebrated the festal services at Holy Trinity Cathedral, the Diocesan Cathedral of the Diocese of the Midwest, Chicago, IL.
The Archbishop was joined by cathedral clergy, Priest Alexander Koranda, Cathedral Dean, Archpriest Tarasiy Maxim, and Protodeacon Thomas Keith. The choir was directed by Ms. Olga Garklavs.
In the final hour of Holy Saturday, the faithful gathered into the cathedral and services began with Fr. Alexander serving nocturns. At midnight the Archbishop came out of the sanctuary with the Paschal light. Following the procession, Paschal Matins began and “Christ is risen!” was proclaimed. Divine Liturgy was held and concluded with the blessing of the artos and eggs. Paschal baskets were blessed in the parish hall following the dismissal.
