WASHINGTON [DOM] – The Orthodox Church in America and the Macedonian Orthodox Church concelebrated for the first time marking the formal recognition of the Macedonian Orthodox Church-Ohrid Archbishopric’s autocephaly. His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest served during the historic service at St. Nicholas Cathedral, Washington, DC.
His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of Washington and All America and Canada concelebrated with His Beatitude Archbishop Stefan of Ohrid and Macedonia in the first joint service between the two primates. Metropolitan Tikhon commemorate Archbishop Stefan in the diptychs of the primates of Orthodox Churches for the first time.
The service was concelebrated by numerous hierarchs, priests, and deacons from various Orthodox jurisdictions. His Eminence Metropolitan Metodij of the Macedonian Church’s American-Canadian Diocese was also present.
