CHICAGO, IL [DOM Communications] – On Friday, January 31, 2020, the Diocese of the Midwest launched its new website featuring a modern new look and user-friendly interface. In addition to standard features such as news headlines and community postings, the new website now highlights various diocesan ministries and allows users to access more easily parish resources that were otherwise buried on the old site. The newly designed website gives to the Diocese an effective instrument for working out its vision of “equipping the saints” for ministry.
Fr. Joel Wilson, Priest-in-Charge of Annunciation Mission in St. James, MO, and owner of Rolla Creative, LLC, and Carrie Sabourin were tasked with designing and developing the new website in the fall of 2019.
“Our hope is that this new website will not only serve as a user-friendly hub highlighting all the ministerial work throughout the diocese, but also that it will provide resources and tools to better equip those who are doing such wonderful work,” said Fr. Joel. “The new diocesan website will directly integrate with other departmental sites such as the recently launched charity.domoca.org and those currently in development. These websites will offer features such as online fundraising for parishes and ministries, compliance reporting within the diocese, online courses for catechetical instruction, and much more.”
Creation of the new website was an initiative of the 2018 Diocesan Assembly. Since that time, His Grace Bishop Paul has been overseeing the project and working closely with Fr Joel and Carrie. They reported regularly to members of the Diocesan Council at each of their meetings, describing what work was completed and what work still remained before the new website could be launched.
