Archbishop Celebrates Altar Feast of Diocesan Cathedral

CHICAGO, IL [DOM Communications] – On the Great and Holy feast of Pentecost, His Eminence Archbishop Paul celebrated divine services at his diocesan Cathedral in Chicago, Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral. Archbishop Paul was joined by Priest Alexander Koranda, Cathedral Dean, and Protodeacon Thomas to celebrate the Altar Feast of the Cathedral.

During his homily, Archbishop Paul expressed his sincere joy seeing his churches throughout the Diocese slowly reopening, and being able to pray with his people. He highlighted how current world events make this Feast even more necessary, and how the faithful need to love and support one another.

At the conclusion of Pentecost Vespers, Fr. Alexander, on behalf of the Cathedral community, congratulated Archbishop Paul on his recent elevation to the rank of Archbishop. Fr. Alexander also noted that June 7 is not only the Great Feast of Pentecost this year, 2020; it also commemorates the founding of the Cathedral community in 1892.

In honor of its 128th year, the diocesan Cathedral is launching a capital campaign to raise funds for much-needed restoration of the Cathedral’s Church building. For more information, click here.
