KWETHLUK, AK [DOM] – The Diocese of Alaska of the Orthodox Church in America officially canonized St. Olga of Alaska on Thursday, June 19 and Friday, June 20. His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest traveled to Alaska for the historic celebration.
Services were held at St. Nicholas Church, Kwethluk, AK, the village of of the saint where she labored and served. The All Night Vigil was served on Thursday evening, and the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on the following day. His Eminence joined members of the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church in America as well as clergy and faithful from throughout the world. Throughout the pilgrimage, the Archbishop was accompanied by Archpriest Herman Kincaid, Chancellor.
Parishes of the Diocese of the Midwest ire called to serve a moleben in honor of St. Olga on Sunday, June 22, the Feast of All Saints of North America.
