PARMA, OH [DOM] – The Cleveland Deanery of the Diocese of Midwest assembled together at Holy Trinity Church, Parma, OH to celebrate services for the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God on Wednesday, June 25 and Thursday, June 26. The community of Holy Trinity Church hosts an exact copy of the Tikhvin Icon, which was brought to the center of the church for veneration.
Priest Christopher Moore, Rector, celebrated the All Night Vigil Wednesday and was joined by the priests of the Cleveland Deanery. Seminarians of the Diocese, Deacon Pedro Sarsama, Deacon Paul Schlafer, and Christopher Mescher, who are fulfilling their summer internships in the Cleveland area also served.
On the following morning, the Divine Liturgy with a Moleben to the Theotokos was offered. Cleveland Dean, Archpriest Nicholas Wyslutsky, was the celebrant, assisted by Archpriest Yves Babich, Priest Christopher Moore, Priest Aaron Rutz, Priest Mark Therrien, Deacon Pedro Sarsama, Deacon Matthew Gluntz, and Deacon Paul Schlafer. The Archpriest John Memorich offered a homily reflecting on his personal experiences of the intercessions of the Mother of God through the Tikhvin Icon and its visits throughout the diocese.
After the Liturgy, the faithful gathered in the fellowship hall to share in a festal meal to continue the celebration.
