Diocesan Seminarian Ordained to Holy Diaconate in Detroit

DETROIT, MI [DOM] – On Saturday, August 19, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest made his first archpastoral visit to St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral, Detroit, MI. During the Divine Liturgy, Subdeacon Phillip Dage, a seminarian of St. Tikhon’s Seminary, was ordained to the Holy Diaconate.

Serving with His Eminence was Archpriest Paul Albert, Rector, Archimandrite Joseph Morris, Archpriest Dusan Koprivica, Dean of the Michigan Deanery, Archpriest Dimtrie Vincent, Archpriest Michael Butler, Archpriest Lev Kopistiansky, Deacon Jacob Frimenko, Deacon John York, Deacon Gary Raphael Fadil, and Deacon James Rimelspach. The choir was directed by Subdeacon Matthew McCroskery.

Immediately following liturgy, we blessed the inner city as all present processed with tall, adorned icons of St. Peter and St. Paul and the Guadalupe Icon for a half mile, singing the Trisagion in English and Spanish, praying for the neighborhood. Upon returning to the cathedral, Archbishop Daniel blessed the gathering which enjoyed music, fellowship, and a festive meal.
