NIANGUA, MO [DOM Communications] – Holy Resurrection Monastery recently received a mission team from the Chicago Deanery offering four days of work on various projects from August 29 – September 1.
St Luke Orthodox Church in Palos Hills, IL, sent a team of parishioners lead by Archpriest Andrew Harrison and Archpriest Howard Salon. In four days the team repaired a rotten ramp, painted several areas and rooms in the monastery, reinforced a staircase, repaired the main deck, and other outdoor work on the property. The mission team also participated in the liturgical life of the monastery.
The monastery commented, “the parish has assisted from afar and now again in person (also earlier in April). Thank you all for your cheerful hard work, love and support. You leave a constant reminder of your efforts to the glory of God and for the furtherance of good things here.”
