CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – The clergy and faithful of the Diocese of the Midwest congratulates His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest on the third anniversary of his canonical election by the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church in America as the Bishop of Chicago and the Midwest.
On July 18, 2022, at the All American Council held in Baltimore, MD, the 61st Diocesan Assembly was held. The meeting was chaired by His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon for the nomination of a candidate to fill the vacant see of Chicago and the Midwest. Shortly following the nomination by the Diocese of the Midwest, the Holy Synod held a Special Session and elected then, His Grace Bishop Daniel, as the Bishop of Chicago and the Midwest.
May God grant Archbishop Daniel good health and strength to continue to serve and care for the God protected Diocese of the Midwest.
