St. Thekla Convent at Antiochian Village announces annual pilgrimage, deacons’ retreat

LIGONIER, PA [Midwest Diocese Communications] — With the blessing of His Grace, Bishop Matthias of Chicago and the Midwest, we announce that the annual Saint Thekla Pilgrimage will take place at the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese’s Convent of Saint Thekla at Antiochian Village here during the weekend of September 21-23, 2012.

Antiochian Village is the burial place of Saint Raphael of Brooklyn.

The Abbess of the convent is Mother Alexandra, who for many years prior to embracing monasticism had been a member of the Midwest Diocese’s Saint Joseph parish, Wheaton, IL.
