Chicago parish plans another event in Little Village neighborhood

CHICAGO, IL [MW Diocese Communications] — Faithful from Christ the Savior Church here are planning another family event in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood on Friday, March 21, 2014.

On the eve of Thanksgiving 2013, Priest John Baker and a number of Christ the Savior parishioners gathered at the parish hall of Little Village’s Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Church to serve a Thanksgiving day dinner to 120 residents of the neighborhood, many of whom had lost loved ones in gang violence.  The March event, consisting of dinner and games for all ages, will be held at the YMCA building.  Parishioners will manage game “stations,” serve dinner, and engage with neighborhood families.

Located in the heart of downtown Chicago’s north side, Christ the Savior parishioners continue to be involved in a variety of neighborhood outreach ministries.
