MCHENERY, IL [DOM] – On Sunday, August 2, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel, Archbishop of Chicago and the Diocese of the Midwest, made an archpastoral visit to St. Nicholas of Myra Church, McHenry, IL.
Archbishop Daniel was joined by parish priest, Mitered Archpriest Volodymyr Kovalchuk, Mitered Archpriest Sergi Prisacaru, Archpriest Tarasiy Maxim, Deacon Paul Garklavs, Deacon Maxim, and Deacon John York. Following the Divine Liturgy, a festive meal was held in the hall.
Earlier this year, Archbishop Daniel received this community into the Diocese of the Midwest. The small community, in the northern part of Illinois, is made up of mainly Slavic immigrants who have settled in the surrounding area.
