12.26.09 BURIAL OF ARCHBISHOP JOB
On Saturday December 26, His Grace Bishop Melchisedek and clergy of the Dioceses of the Midwest and Western Pennsylvania celebrated the Divine Liturgy and Burial Services for Archbishop Job at St John the Baptist Church, Black Lick, Pennsylvania.
Archbishop Job was interred on the church ground directly behind the altar.
St John the Baptist was Archbishop Job's first parish assignment after completing studies at St Tikhon's Seminary. He first arrived at the parish as the youth and choir director and later being ordained and serving as parish priest for many years.
After the burial a repast was held at which His Grace Bishop Melchisedek offered a toast in the memory of Archbishop Job. His Grace reminded the faithful that the Brotherhood of Bishops in the Orthodox Church exists under the protection of the Most Holy Theotokos and that thus it was fitting that Archbishop Job be burried on the Feast Day of the Synaxis of the Theotokos.
