NEW ORLEANS, LA [MW Communications] - From June 28 - July 3, Father Joel Weir and his wife Maria led an IOCC "Volunteer in the Gulf" group to New Orleans to assist in builidng homes for those persons affected by Hurricane Katrina.
On Monday 29 June His Eminence, Archbishop Job celebrated the Feast of Ss Peter & Paul together with Cleveland Deanery Clergy at Ss Peter & Paul Church, Lorain, Ohio.
Concelebrating with His Eminence were Archpriests Basil Stoyka, Ss Peter & Paul, Lorain; John Zdinak, St Theodosius Cathedral Cleveland; John Memorich, Archangel Michael, Broadview Heights; Emilian Hutnyan, Saint Andrew, Maple Heights; John Steffaro, St John's, Campbell; Vladimir Berzonsky, Holy Trinity, Parma; Priests Nicholas Wyslutsky, St Nicholas, Mogadore; David Lis, Holy Assumption, Marblehead; Deacon Edwin Kolenda, Ss Peter & Paul, Lorain.
The Festal Divine Liturgy was followed by a Cross Procession with the Holy Relics of Ss. Peter & Paul.
St. John of Kronstadt Orthodox Church of Lincoln, Nebraska recently had the opportunity to participate in an ecumenical concert with parishes from the local Roman Catholic diocese for the fourth year in a row. This event, called “Gates of Repentance,” first came together in March of 2006 when University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) student and Roman Catholic church musician Dr. Jennifer Donelson approached the local Roman Catholic and
Orthodox leaders with the idea.
On Sunday June 14 Archbishop Job participated with clergy and faithful of the "Quad Parishes" of the Chicago Deanery for their annual joint Divine Liturgy and picnic.
The "Quad Parishes" include St Luke, Palos Hills; St Panteliemon, Summit: Sts Peter and Paul, Burr Ridge; and Archangel Michael, Burbank.
